There is some talk online that you can’t make any money with eBooks and they are no longer worth creating. I would beg to differ with these people and I will give you a few reasons why eBooks should be created to act as a lead generation tool and increase traffic to your website.
So why should you be creating eBooks?
Firstly, if you give that eBook away people will visit your website.
Secondly, if they are coming to your website they are looking for information you might have. You are already in their mind, so if you have an eBook with the information they are looking for you’re set!
Here’s a quick example. Very recently, about almost a year ago, I was the best man in a wedding. I knew nothing about being a best man.
One of the things that I was doing online was scouring the Internet of things that I should be doing as a best man, because I had no clue. I was going to all kinds of websites trying to piece all this information together, when I know for a fact that had there been an eBook that basically created a step by step process of what I needed to do in order to be a best man, I would have bought it.
You may ask, how do you know you actually would have bought it? Well, I have bought other eBook which provide information that I needed to know in a step by step nature.
The reason I bought those books was number one, I was searching for the information. Number two, I came to a website that had packaged that information into a step by step procedure.
There is more than one reason to be creating an eBook. Another one is within your eBook you can advertise your products and services.
You should be thinking of your products acting like a funnel. This is what we call the marketing funnel. Your eBook would be at the top of the funnel and further down are your higher priced products.
You want to use the eBook to build trust and demonstrate the value that you can provide to your customers so that they are more willing and eager to buy your higher-priced items.
People buy products from people who they know, like, and trust, and who they see a lot of value from by working with them. I want you to think of an eBook as a way to demonstrate the value that you can provide to those people.
By doing that, by creating an introductory product, you then want to introduce your other higher-priced products and services that those people could purchase from you if they want to take that next step.
It becomes a platform to advertise your other products and services within the eBook.
I want to put out a disclaimer here because you do not want to be creating an eBook that is just one big sales pitch. You want to make sure that you provide value in that eBook because you’re on the line here. You’re demonstrating what you can do for that client or customer.
Writing these articles, I am doing it right now to you. Of course, I would love it if you all bought my other products and services, came to my seminar, wanted to work closer with me. In order to get to that point I know I have to gain your trust and show you that I can provide valuable information.
Providing articles is one way I like to do that. Within each one I try to cram as much information as I can so that you just can’t wait to read my next article or go purchase some of my products.
You should apply this to your eBooks and take the same philosophy. Pack as much information into your eBooks as possible while mentioning your other products and services. Be careful not to make it one big sales pitch, or people will be won’t want to continue and are less likely to purchase anything else from you.
Using an eBook as a platform for your other products and services as well as driving traffic and making leads are all great reasons why you should be creating eBooks.
Ideas will come to you when you explore the possibilities of creativity!
